This five-syllable word, apothecary, which entered English in the 14th century, derives from the Latin apothēca,"storehouse."

Natural beauty is on the rise and clean options are becoming more accessible than ever. Our apothecary was designed to share some of our favorite [often smaller] companies that work just as well, if not better than the big names on the market. We love supporting local and you will find many New England natives in our shop. All of the companies we work with are mission aligned with our philosophy that beauty is natural.

Our space includes eco flooring, low VOC paint, repurposed furniture and eco heads, water conserving nozzles. Our very own starstruck shampoo and conditioner is part of our in salon refill program. We offer Aveda, a green beauty company leading the way in PCR (post consumer-recycled) packaging, with 80% to 100% PCR in much of its packaging portfolio. Aveda is also the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% wind power in their primary facility.

THE FOUNDERS

We are Angie and Stephani. Two girls who basically got tired of the chemicals we were being exposed to in our work environment. We’d talk about how great it would be if there was an organic hair salon. A place where clients’ and stylists’ weren’t exposed to toxic chemicals for the sake of beauty. A place where beauty products were not only effective but had a wellness benefit as well. After much talking we finally made it happen.

Steller was born on the philosophy of Beauty is Natural. Every product we work with has been carefully selected with purpose and each of our services live up to our high expectations to truly pamper our clientele. Throughout the process we’d continuously ask ourselves “Is it steller?” before selecting a product or treatment for our company. We love this industry and we love that we can share our philosophy that Beauty is Natural with others. Come visit us, we can’t wait to meet you!
